Welcome to our latest Cape Cod and Islands high school football Players of the Week Poll. High school sports fans can vote for which football athletes they think were standouts during the previous week.

The poll will be open from Monday through Sunday. The winners will be announced every Monday along with the new poll.

Votes must be cast via the Cape Cod Times website/mobile sites. Votes submitted via email and social media will NOT be accepted. To vote for this week’s Players of the Week, scroll down on this page.

Last week’s winner

Ty Kelley, Bourne

Kelley became the first Canalmen to win the poll this season with 62% of the votes. He had another do-it-all performance as the Canalmen beat Monomoy 21-8 on the road. Kelley finished with two rushing touchdowns on offense, kicked an extra point, and had an interception on defense.

This week’s candidates

Jayden Barber, Dennis-Yarmouth

Quarterback Barber went 7-for-14 for 106 yards and two touchdowns, and added five carries for 61 yards on the ground for the Dolphins 27-6 win over Falmouth.

Dillon Chapman, Monomoy

Chapman led the Sharks offense with two rushing touchdowns in a loss to Martha’s Vineyard.

Oliver Doto, Dennis-Yarmouth

Doto had two carries for 115 yards and a touchdown as the Dolphins beat Falmouth.

Owen Enright, St. John Paul II

Enright had two interceptions in a loss to Nantucket.

Adam Ferreira, Sandwich

Ferreira threw for 45 yards and ran for 40 yards and two touchdowns, while adding three tackles and one interception on defense in a 21-7 win over East Bridgewater.

Ethan Fox, Bourne

Fox ran in for two scores in a 28-16 win over Seekonk.

Jake Haigh, Nantucket

Haigh had two interceptions, and a pick six, in a 13-0 win over St. John Paul II.

Makai Hue, Mashpee

Hue ran for 82 yards and finished with three touchdowns on the ground, while catching another touchdown through the air in a 35-0 win over Hull.

Ty Kelley, Bourne

Kelley led the way with one touchdown pass (4-6 for 85 yards), one touchdown run (8 carries for 120 yards), and two interceptions in a win over Seekonk.

Walter Mayo, Dennis-Yarmouth

Mayo had three receptions for 69 yards and was on the receiving end of both of Barber’s touchdown passes in the win over Falmouth.

Guilherme Oliveira, Martha’s Vineyard

Oliveira had two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and added an interception on defense in a 28-20 win over Monomoy.

Waylon Watts, Upper Cape

Watts had a 80-yard kickoff return touchdown for the Rams in a loss to South Shore Tech.
