Asian Cup: Tottenham’s Son Heung-min and Wolves’ Hwang Hee-chan involved


Tottenham captain Son Heung-min and Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan could miss as many as four Premier League matches in January and February after being named in South Korea’s 26-man squad for the Asian Cup in Qatar.

Jurgen Klinsmann’s side play their opening group match against Bahrain on 15 January, starting their bid to win the event for the first time since 1960.

The group stage concludes on 25 January but, should they go all the way to the final on 10 February, Son would miss Spurs’ Premier League matches against:

Manchester United (a, 14 January)

Brentford (h, 31 January)

Everton (a, 3 February)

Brighton (h, 10 February)

And Hwang would be absent for Wolves’ league fixtures against:

Brighton (a, 22 January)

Manchester United (h, 1 February)

Chelsea (a, 4 February)

Brentford (h, 10 February)

Tottenham are scheduled to face Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday, 17 February.
