Thomas Tuchel insists he is not worried about his future as Bayern Munich manager.

The former Chelsea boss saw a bad week get worse for his side as they were beaten in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Lazio on Tuesday evening.

Ciro Immobile scored a second-half penalty after Dayot Upamecano’s red card to condemn the German giants to their second costly defeat in a matter of days, following their 3-0 loss to Bundesliga title rivals Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern are now facing the prospect of an early exit from Europe, something that put an end to Julian Nagelsmann’s tenure last season.

While Tuchel won the League title after replacing Nagelsmann in March, that came in dramatic circumstances on the final day after Borussia Dortmund were held to a draw with Mainz.

Bayern currently sit second in the Bundesliga, five points behind Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen but Tuchel insists he is not worried about the prospect of being sacked.

“No, I’m not worried about my future or [the] potential sack,” he said.

“We did everything to lose this match. It was in our hands. At a certain point we stopped believing, I’ve no idea why.

“There were many individual mistakes”.
