Jude Bellingham first Real Madrid player to score in opening four Champions League games

Bellingham later picked up a worrying knock to his ankle towards the end of the first half, but he was able to continue and completed the match.

Former Fulham midfielder Frank Anguissa levelled the game from a rebound two minutes after the break but a stunner from range by academy midfielder Paz in the 84th minute gave Real the lead again, and Joselu got the fourth goal with a tap-in in added time.

Bellingham has now scored 16 goals this season when his lone strike for England is included, having already netted in Madrid’s European victories over Union Berlin and the away trip to Naples, having also scored in Braga after missing the home tie through injury.

The 14-times European champions maintained their 100 per cent record and have 15 points from five games, eight points ahead of the Italian champions who are second in Group C on seven points, three clear of Braga in third. Union Berlin are bottom on two points after a 1-1 draw against Braga earlier on Wednesday.

Joselu also appeared to apologise to the fans at the Bernabeu while celebrating after having missed a few good chances earlier in the match.
