Odds, predictions for Week 5 of the 2023-24 Premier League season – By Andy EdwardsWolves vs Liverpool

Kickoff: 7:30 am ET, Saturday

Odds: Wolves (+550) vs Liverpool (-225) | Draw (+400)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Wolves will find some joy on the counter with Virgil van Dijk suspended one more game and Ibrahima Konate perhaps not 100 percent, but as always it comes down to their (in)ability to finish chances. Wolves 1-2 Liverpool.

T

Kickoff: 10 am ET, Saturday

Odds: West Ham (+500) vs Man City (-210) | Draw (+360)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network | Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: The Hammers have played classic David Moyes-ball to great success thus far, but do you really think Pep Guardiola won’t have a plan (or three) to counteract their counters? West Ham 0-2 Man City.

Manchester United vs Brighton

Kickoff: 10 am ET, Saturday

Odds: Manchester United (+110) vs Brighton (+200) | Draw (+290)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch on Peacock Premium

Prediction: What the Red Devils need is 1) everyone to be healthy and available to play, and 2) lots of time to train Erik ten Hag’s tactical ideas. After the recent international break, they have had neither and the runaway Brighton train is set to steamroll into Old Trafford this weekend. Man United 1-2 Brighton.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Sheffield United

Kickoff: 10 am ET, Saturday

Odds: Tottenham (-350) vs Sheffield United (+875) | Draw (+500)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Spurs are desperate to start games quickly under Ange Postecolgou, as opponents are then forced to push forward in pursuit of an equalizer, which can then snowball very quickly. Maybe more so than any side in the PL, the Tottenham team picks itself, so long as they remain relatively injury-free. Tottenham 3-2 Sheffield United.

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Kickoff: 10 am ET, Saturday

Odds: Aston Villa (-110) vs Crystal Palace (+290) | Draw (+260)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network | Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Until further notice, the safest assumption in the PL is that Aston Villa will beat sides they are supposed to beat, and lose to sides to whom they should be losing. Unai Emery’s side exists in no man’s land, somewhere between good and great. Aston Villa 3-1 Crystal Palace.

Fulham vs Luton Town

Kickoff: 10 am ET, Saturday

Odds: Fulham (-150) vs Luton (+400) | Draw (+290)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Joao Palhinha is expected to return to the lineup following his deadline-day disappointment, and the Portuguese midfielder instantly inspires Fulham to a must-have victory. Fulham 1-0 Luton.

Newcastle United vs Brentford

Kickoff: 12:30 pm ET, Saturday

Odds: Newcastle (-185) vs Brentford (+475) | Draw (+320)

TV Channel/Stream: NBC | Peacock Premium & Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: What Newcastle need more than anything right now is a low-pressure, favorable matchup to return to basics and win an uneventful, boring game. Chaotic Brentford will offer nothing of the sort (2.43 xG per 90 – highest in the PL). Newcastle 1-2 Brentford.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea

Kickoff: 9 am ET, Sunday

Odds: Bournemouth (+320) vs Chelsea (-135) | Draw (+300)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Chelsea need the same that Newcastle need, and fortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, Bournemouth’s best plan of action is to limit scoring chances at both ends of the field. Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea.

Everton vs Arsenal

Kickoff: 11:30 am ET, Sunday

Odds: Everton (+475) vs Arsenal (-190) | Draw (+350)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: The good news for Everton: they got their first point of the season last time out. The bad news: they needed at the tail end of stoppage time to draw Sheffield United. Perhaps Arsenal will have one eye on their UEFA Champions League return three days later, but… Everton 1-3 Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley

Kickoff: 2:45 pm ET, Monday

Odds: Nottingham Forest (+115) vs Burnely (+225) | Draw (+250)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Nottingham Forest have quietly played quite well in all four of their games (2W-0D-2L), as they comfortably rank mid-table in xGA (1.6 per 90). Burnley, on the other hand, are 19th in xG of their own (0.8 per 90). Nottingham Forest 2-0 Burnley.

Odds, predictions for Week 4 of the 2023-24 Premier League season – By Nicholas Mendola – 5 out of 10 correct results, 1 correct scoreLuton Town vs West Ham

Kickoff: 3pm ET, Friday

Odds: Luton Town (+333) vs West Ham (-125) | Draw (+275)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: The Irons have a couple of terrific wins on their resume but drew Bournemouth when asked to dominate a team. This is a good measuring stick, and West Ham should have enough to at least prolong debates over whether it’s turned a corner. Luton Town 1-2 West Ham

Sheffield United vs Everton

Kickoff: 7:30am ET, Saturday

Odds: Sheffield United (+210) vs Everton (+138) | Draw (+220)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network | Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: A pair of 0-3 teams here, but there are a lot of differences to note. Everton’s been unlucky in at least two of its three outings while the Blades have played three one-goal games and been bossed by Palace and City. They did not deserve much from Forest away, either. Sheffield United 0-1 Everton.

Brentford vs Bournemouth

Kickoff: 10am ET, Saturday

Odds: Brentford (-150) vs Bournemouth (+375) | Draw (+310)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch on Peacock Premium

Prediction: The advanced stats say the unbeaten Bees should be able to keep up that mark at home to a Cherries team in the bottom third for xGA. Brentford 3-1 Bournemouth.

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur

Kickoff: 10am ET, Saturday

Odds: Burnley (+280) vs Tottenham Hotspur (-120) | Draw (+290)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch on Peacock Premium

Prediction: The Clarets will take a surprise result or two this season and were rested a bit at midweek in League Cup action a day after Tottenham fell to Fulham in the same competition. Still, 0-3 looks likely for Vincent Kompany’s men. Burnley 0-1 Tottenham.

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest

Kickoff: 10am ET, Saturday

Odds: Chelsea (-275) vs Nottingham Forest (+675) | Draw (+400)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network | Watch online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Forest’s played in three one-goal games including losses to Arsenal and Man United. It played a strong team against Burnley in midweek League Cup play, and that seems a bridge too far to keep up the tight fights. Chelsea 3-0 Forest.

Manchester City vs Fulham

Kickoff: 10am ET, Saturday

Odds: Manchester City (-600) vs Fulham (+1500) | Draw (+675)

TV Channel/Stream: Watch on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Man City bossed Burnley and Blades while having a comfortable time in between with Newcastle. Fulham hasn’t been the better team in a single game despite its 1-1-1 record. More of the same, we think. Man City 4-0 Fulham.

Brighton vs Newcastle United

Kickoff: 12:30pm ET, Saturday

Odds: Brighton (+155) vs Newcastle (+150) | Draw (+270)

TV Channel/Stream: NBC | Watch online via NBCSports.com & Peacock Premium

Prediction: Toughest match of the weekend to pick, as Brighton’s allowed 1.89, 2.69, and 2.95 xGA in its three Premier League starts while Newcastle’s lost some luster following disjointed losses to Liverpool and Man City. Brighton 2-2 Newcastle.

Crystal Palace vs Wolves

Kickoff: 9am ET, Sunday

Odds: Crystal Palace (-110) vs Wolves (+320) | Draw (+240)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: Palace has built its 1-1-1 record by being steady, not spectacular, while Wolves have opted to get after it by any means necessary and have just one fewer point to show for it. Gary O’Neil or Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park? Palace 2-1 Wolves.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa

Kickoff: 9am ET, Sunday

Odds: Liverpool (-145) vs Aston Villa (+333) | Draw (+320)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: Everyone is back on Liverpool’s bandwagon following the spirited comeback at St. James’ Park and the Reds’ defensive acumen might be what tests things here. No Virgil van Dijk is a problem, but Anfield can be a tough house. Liverpool 1-2 Villa.

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Kickoff: 11:30am ET, Sunday

Odds: Arsenal (-135) vs Manchester United (+320) | Draw (+300)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: Raphael Varane is out and Arsenal is due for a big finishing performance. Gabriel Jesus came off the bench in Week 3 and could be ready for a bigger role here. Both teams will fancy goals. Arsenal’s shown a more controlled presence this season (and last), however. Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United

Odds, predictions for Week 3 of the 2023-24 Premier League season – By Joe Prince-Wright – 6 out of 10 correct results, 1 correct score

Chelsea vs Luton TownKickoff: 3pm ET, Friday

Odds: Chelsea (-450) vs Luton Town (+1110) | Draw (+550)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: This should easy for the hosts but the balance is still off and the Hatters have had a wild to come up with a plan. Home win, but it will be close. Chelsea 2-1 Luton Town.

Bournemouth vs TottenhamKickoff: 7:30am ET Saturday

Odds: Bournemouth (+250) vs Tottenham (-110) | Draw (+290)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: This should be a really fun watch but Spurs have the better attacking players and are in a good place so go for Ange’s boys to win. Bournemouth 1-3 Tottenham.

Arsenal vs FulhamKickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: Arsenal (-450) vs Fulham (+1110) | Draw (+575)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: The Gunners have been ruthless so far and I expect them to grab another narrow win. Arsenal 2-1 Fulham.

Brentford vs Crystal PalaceKickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: Brentford (+100) vs Crystal Palace (+275) | Draw (+250)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: This has a draw written all over it. Two well-organized teams who won’t give much away. Stalemate. Brentford 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Everton vs WolvesKickoff: 10am ET Saturday

Odds: Everton (+130) vs Wolves (+210) | Draw (+225)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: The Toffees will have a lot of pressure on them and Wolves have looked really good on the counter aside from the finish. Away win. Everton 0-2 Wolves.

Manchester United vs Nottingham ForestKickoff: 10am ET Saturday

Odds: Manchester United (-300) vs Nottingham Forest (+775) | Draw (+475)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: United really need another home win and Forest will prove difficult but they’ll get the job done. Manchester United 3-1 Nottingham Forest.

Brighton vs West HamKickoff: 12:30pm ET Saturday

Odds: Brighton (-200) vs West Ham (+475) | Draw (+360)

TV Channel/Stream: NBC and online via NBCSports.com/Peacock Premium

Prediction: This will be an interesting clash of styles and I’m going for an entertaining draw between two Europa League teams who look good going forward but have some issues defensively. Brighton 2-2 West Ham.

Burnley vs Aston VillaKickoff: 9am ET Sunday

Odds: Burnley (+240) vs Aston Villa (+110) | Draw (+250)

TV Channel/Stream: Online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: The Clarets are pretty good and have had two weeks to prepare for this. I’m going for a surprise home win, especially with Villa being in European action a few days before. Burnley 2-1 Aston Villa.

Sheffield United vs Manchester City

Kickoff: 9am ET Sunday

Odds: Sheffield United (+1450) vs Manchester City (-550) | Draw (+600)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: All signs point to a routine away win and although this will be tighter than we expect, it will be a City win because Erling Haaland is around. Sheffield United 0-2 Manchester City.

Newcastle vs LiverpoolKickoff: 11:30am ET Sunday

Odds: Newcastle (+115) vs Liverpool (+200) | Draw (+280)

TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: What an attacking game this promises to be. I’m going for a classic high-scoring draw as these two always put on a show. Newcastle 3-3 Liverpool.

Odds, predictions for Week 2 of the 2023-24 Premier League season – By Joe Prince-Wright – 6 out of 9 correct results, 1 correct score

Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield UnitedKickoff: 2:45pm ET FridayOdds: Nottingham Forest (-110) vs Sheffield United (+310) | Draw (+240)TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Forest showed enough against Arsenal to prove they can beat one of the new boys at home. Nottingham Forest 2-0 Sheffield United.

Liverpool vs BournemouthKickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: Liverpool (-450) vs Bournemouth (+550) | Draw (+550)TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: This will be a lot closer than we think but Liverpool have enough firepower to get the job done. Liverpool 3-2 Bournemouth.

Wolves vs BrightonKickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: Wolves (+270) vs Brighton (-110) | Draw (+270)TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: This should probably be an away win but Wolves were excellent against Man United and there could be an upset here. Wolves 2-1 Brighton.

Fulham vs BrentfordKickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: Fulham (+165) vs Brentford (+160) | Draw (+230)TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: There is a lot going on at Fulham right now and it seems like Brentford may be able to take advantage of it. Fulham 1-2 Brentford.

Tottenham vs Manchester UnitedKickoff: 12:30pm ET SaturdayOdds: Tottenham (+185) vs Manchester United (+135) | Draw (+260)TV Channel/Stream: NBC and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Spurs are a work in progress but they may actually get a big win early in the season. United were all over the place in midfield and defense in their opener. Tottenham 2-0 Manchester United.

Manchester City vs Newcastle UnitedKickoff: 3pm ET SaturdayOdds: Manchester City (-160) vs Newcastle United (+400) | Draw (+310)TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: This seems set up for a draw. City are without Kevin de Bruyne and heading back from the Super Cup final, while Newcastle looked very strong against Villa and have better depth in their squad this season. Manchester City 2-2 Newcastle.

Aston Villa vs EvertonKickoff: 9am ET SundayOdds: Aston Villa (-150) vs Everton (+400) | Draw (+290)TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Villa were better than the scoreline suggested at Newcastle and Everton did everything apart from score against Fulham. This will be tight but Villa should just sneak it. Aston Villa 2-1 Everton.

West Ham vs ChelseaKickoff: 11:30am ET SundayOdds: West Ham (+300) vs Chelsea (-110) | Draw (+260)TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: The Hammers are in a weird place and Chelsea looked very good against Liverpool and now they have Caicedo to provide extra balance. West Ham 1-3 Chelsea.

Crystal Palace vs ArsenalKickoff: 3pm ET, MondayOdds: Crystal Palace (+500) vs Arsenal (-185) | Draw (+310)TV Channel/Stream: Watch online via Peacock Premium

Prediction: This will be a big test for Arsenal early in the season but if they can stay solid defensively then they should ease to victory. Crystal Palace 0-2 Arsenal.

Odds, predictions for Week 1 of the 2023-24 Premier League season – By Nick Mendola – 7 out of 10 correct results, 1 correct scoreBurnley vs Man City

Kickoff: 3pm ET FridayOdds: BFC (+850) vs City (-300) | Draw (+450)TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Vincent Kompany should have Burnley more dangerous than most newly-promoted teams, but expecting to go toe-to-toe with a Man City side that already has a competitive game under its belt is a lot. Man City 3-0.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest

Kickoff: 7:30am ET SaturdayOdds: Arsenal (-550) vs Forest (+1250) | Draw (+625)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: The Gunners will be ready to light the league on fire in pursuit of a PL crown. Forest should be improved this year, but Week 1 away to Arsenal is a big ask. Arsenal 3-1.

Bournemouth vs West Ham United

Kickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: AFCB (+170) vs West Ham (+155) | Draw (+240)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Bournemouth’s at home but these odds seem, well, odd. There’s uncertainty about whether Lucas Paqueta will play given links to Man City, but the Irons still carry more consistency and power against a first-time PL manager in Andoni Iraola. West Ham 2-0.

Brighton vs Luton Town

Kickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: BHAFC (-300) vs Luton (+800) | Draw (+425)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: A rude welcome to the Premier League seems likely for the Hatters, especially away from home. Could be a big game for Joao Pedro, who scored in consecutive fixtures away to Luton in the Championship. Brighton 3-0.

Everton vs Fulham

Kickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: EFC (+120) vs FFC (+220) | Draw (+240)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Fulham will be without Joao Palhinha and Tom Cairney, while Everton has several absences but should still be able to claim ground in the midfield. But Aleksandar Mitrovic is still with the club and a tall task for Everton’s back line. Everton 1-1 Fulham.

Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace

Kickoff: 10am ET SaturdayOdds: Blades (+200) vs Palace (+140) | Draw (+220)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: No Michael Olise nor Matheus Franca for Palace and Bramall Lane will be hopping, but the Blades have several injury issues as well. Can the Eagles fly without Wilfried Zaha? It’s a long-term question but perhaps not a big worry this week. Blades 1-2 Palace.

Newcastle United vs Aston Villa

Kickoff: 12:30pm ET SaturdayOdds: NUFC (-135) vs Villa (+340) | Draw (+290)TV Channel/Stream: NBC and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: These odds seem a bit off given what we’ve seen of Villa, but Newcastle has been so good at St. James’ Park under Eddie Howe in only losing to Arsenal and Liverpool at home last season. We’ll side with the bookmakers, if just. Newcastle 2-1 Villa.

Brentford vs Tottenham Hotspur

Kickoff: 9am am ET SundayOdds: Brentford (+175) vs Spurs (+140) | Draw (+260)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Assuming Harry Kane plays, you have to like the odds of the team with its high-flying center forward against the team whose star center forward is suspended through January. Over-simplifying? Brentford will be hoping that’s the case… or that Kane is sold before Sunday. Brentford 1-3 Spurs.

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Kickoff: 11:30am ET SundayOdds: CFC (+180) vs LFC (+135) | Draw (+260)TV Channel/Stream: Watch live on Peacock Premium

Prediction: Oooh boy. What a way for Mauricio Pochettino the formally start a project and for Jurgen Klopp to hope to kick-on his revamped plan. Christopher Nkunku’s injury looms for Chelsea and Mohamed Salah can certainly stake an Opening Day claim against his former mate. Might this come down to an Argentine midfield battle between Enzo Fernandez and Alexis Mac Allister? Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool.

Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Kickoff: 3pm ET MondayOdds: Man Utd (-300) vs Wolves (+750) | Draw (+425)TV Channel/Stream: USA Network and online via NBCSports.com

Prediction: Can you have a new manager bounce if the new manager arrives four days before the start of the season? Gary O’Neil might find magic with Wolves’ attack-first side, somehow, but to expect it in Week 1 at Old Trafford against Erik ten Hag’s well-oiled Man Utd seems a bit silly. Man Utd 2-0 Wolves.
