Bologna 1-2 AC Milan

After receiving a 3-0 home thrashing from Atalanta last weekend, AC Milan showed once again that their title case is full of merit by beating Bologna far more comfortably than the 2-1 scoreline would indicate.

Ante Rebic raced in behind and slotted home to open the scoring after 26 minutes and Franck Kessie converted his sixth penalty kick this season in the 55th minute. AC Milan would hold onto their 2-0 lead until the 81st minute, when former Milan man Andrea Poli pulled a goal back. But that’s as close as Bologna would get, as Milan took all three points to protect their two-point lead atop the Serie A table.

Inter Milan 4-0 Benevento

The title will almost certainly not be handed to Milan to on a silver platter, though, as Inter Milan also bounced back from a disappointing result last weekend and hammered 12th-place Benevento to the tune of 4-0.

A 7th-minute own goal set Antonio Conte’s side on its way, though they did require quite some time to find a second goal. However, once they did, the floodgates were opened and could not be closed.

Lautaro Martinez made it 2-0 in the 57th minute, Romelu Lukaku added a third in the 67th as well as a fourth in the 78th. The big Belgian striker now trails Cristiano Ronaldo (15) by a single goal in the Golden Boot race.

Sampdoria 0-2 Juventus

Speaking of Ronaldo, Juventus were also victorious this weekend as Andrea Pirlo and Co., kept alive their dream of hoisting a 10th straight scudetto. With a game in hand over all three sids above them, Juve trail AC Milan by seven points.

Federico Chiesa opened the scoring after 20 minutes, and the score would stay that way until Aaron Ramsey added the much-needed insurance goal in the 91st.

USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie turned in a fantastic two-way performance for Juventus, providing a pair of key passes inside the final third and registering five tackles, four interceptions and three clearances as Juventus kept just their fifth clean sheet of the season.
