The 2023/24 Premier League season is under way and you can follow every game and every goal right here with The Independent.
This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.
Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

Palace had just one shot on target before the break and must do more to support Edouard. The striker has had just 11 touches and has been kept quiet by Ream and Diop. Eze has shown fleeting moments of quality but has also not seen enough of the ball. As for Fulham, they started the game quickly before slowing down. Willian has shown his ability on the left, with the Cottagers looking much more effective in the attack due to the return of left-back Robinson. However, Palhinha must be careful in the midfield as he has already been shown a yellow card.

Fulham had the better chances before the break, but the game is goalless at half-time. Johnstone has been called into action a couple of times and denied Pereira inside the first three minutes. The former Manchester United man received the ball inside the box on the left and blasted his shot across the goal, with Johnstone making a smart stop. Willian then looked to break the deadlock with a curling effort angled towards the bottom corner, but the England international got across to push it wide. Palace were quiet for most of the half. However, Eze was always posing a threat. He arrived on the edge of the box and looked to whip a shot into the corner. However, it flashed just wide of the post.
