Harry Kane speaks out on Bayern Munich form amid dreadful run of results

Harry Kane has vowed to “push forward” at Bayern Munich after a nightmare run of results for the club.

The England striker has enjoyed a record-breaking season on an individual level since joining from Tottenham in August but there has been a collective failing at the Allianz Arena.

While manager Thomas Tuchel insists he is not fearing the sack, there is a distinct prospect Bayern could lose their grip on the Bundesliga title after 11 seasons.

Xabi Alonso, who has been touted as a replacement for Tuchel, has his Bayer Leverkusen side sitting eight points clear at the top of the League.

They beat Bayern 3-0 earlier this month before the Munich giants lost the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie to Lazio.

Bayern have since been defeated by Bochum as the crisis continued and Tuchel has admitted Kane is “unhappy” with the way he’s been “involved” of late.

“Harry… already knows what he’s doing. And of course he’s unhappy with the way he’s involved at the moment,” said the former Chelsea boss. “And we are dissatisfied with how we find and don’t find him (in games).

“I have very rarely, perhaps never before, seen such a discrepancy between performances in training and matches, the way he scores, the way he leads the team, the way his team wins. It’s unbelievable. It’s absolutely world-class.

“And then how little we find him in the game? That’s a bit indicative of the current situation. But he’s the one who behaves like a captain. That’s why everything’s okay with Harry. He’s low maintenance at the very highest level.”

Still, the England captain took to X (formerly Twitter) to vow: “No hiding from a tough week with performances and results not at the level we expect from ourselves.

“Got to pull together as a group and push forward – big run of important games coming up to turn it round.”
