Electronic Arts Shares Jump on Sales of New Soccer Videogame

Electronic Arts reported second-quarter results above Wall Street expectations, citing the successful launch of its new soccer videogame.

“EA Sports FC 24” is the first installment of the company’s annual soccer franchise without the FIFA brand attached to its name. EA said the game had more than 14.5 million active accounts within the first four weeks of its global launch.

Shares of EA rose 5.8% to $130.96 in after-hours trading. Before the report, the stock was up 1.3% in 2023.
